Instructions | For a perfect pot of rice, thoroughly rinse and soak the rice in cold water for 20-30 min before cooking. Choose one of the following methods as per your usual practice of cooking and the desired quantity. Open pot: add rice to boiling water and cook on medium heat for 5-8 min. Stir once or twice. Drain the rice in a sieve and run cold water through it. Stir in salt. Closed pot : add rice to water (ratio of 1 and 3/4 measure of water to 1 measure of rice). Bring it to a boil in a heave base vessel. Cook for 10 min covered with a tight-fitting lid on low heat. Turn of the burner. Set aside for 5 min. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve. Microwave : place all ingredients in a deep microwave safe bowl. Cover with cling film. Cook on high /100% for 5 min then cook on medium/50% for a further 7 min. Cover and set aside for 3 min. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve. |
